AKC S.T.A.R Puppy Classes - $250

The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program is a fun and engaging six-week course designed to give you and your puppy the best possible start. This in-person class meets once a week for one hour. It focuses on socialization, basic obedience, leash manners, potty training, puppy care, and more. The goal is to help you and your puppy build a strong foundation for long-term success.

Open to all puppies under one year of age, regardless of breed or mix, this program is also a great first step toward earning your Canine Good Citizen (CGC) title. At the end of the course, puppies who successfully complete all six sessions will receive an AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy medal and be listed in the AKC’s official records once the test form is submitted.

Important Note: Puppies must attend all 6 weeks to pass the course. Make-up sessions are only available if a class is canceled by Kiko’s K9 Academy.

The AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Program is a six-week course designed to teach your dog polite behavior and help you become a more confident and responsible owner. Classes meet once a week for one hour and cover all 10 CGC test items, including loose leash walking, coming when called, sit and stay, polite greetings, and more.

This program is open to dogs of all breeds and ages, whether purebred or mixed. It is ideal for anyone looking to improve their dog’s manners at home and in public, while also working toward an official AKC title.

To earn the official CGC title and certificate, your dog must have an AKC number. This can be obtained through AKC registration for recognized breeds, the AKC Canine Partners program for mixed breeds and unregistered dogs, the Purebred Alternative Listing (PAL) for purebred dogs that cannot be fully registered, or the Foundation Stock Service (FSS) for breeds working toward full AKC recognition.

This course is a great next step after completing puppy training and provides the foundational skills needed for advanced obedience.

AKC CGC Community Canine and Urban CGC Classes - $250

This six-week class meets once a week and is open to dogs of any age who have already passed the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. The course prepares dogs for real-world public settings by focusing on the skills required for the CGCA and CGCU evaluations.

Training includes polite entry and exit through doors, ignoring food on the ground, navigating through crowds, remaining calm in busy environments, safely crossing streets, and more. This course is ideal for service dogs in training or well-mannered pets ready to advance their training in public spaces.
