My Story
My love for dogs began early in life. I grew up with two German Shepherds and was first introduced to dog training by attending Schutzhund classes with my parents and childhood dogs. Since then, my passion for working with dogs in all capacities has only grown. I have a passion for helping people build strong, trusting relationships with their dogs. I believe training is rooted in clear communication, consistency, and connection. My goal is to help you and your dog live a balanced and harmonious life together, built on mutual understanding and respect.

Over the years, I’ve volunteered at local shelters and worked as a dog walker and sitter here in Hawai’i, gaining valuable experience with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I currently share my life with two incredible dogs: Kiko, my German Shepherd, and Kawelo, my Golden Retriever. Together, we participate in a variety of dog sports including agility, FastCAT, scent work, rally, and more.

I'm an AKC evaluator and offer classes in CGC, CGCA, CGCU, and AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy, with plans to expand my program in the future. I hold an associate degree in Companion Animal Training and specialize in basic obedience, puppy raising, and group classes. I am fully insured through Pet Care Insurance and committed to continued education through additional coursework and certifications. I also regularly shadow and collaborate with other trainers to sharpen my skills and stay current in the field.

When I'm not training, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, freediving in the ocean, capturing moments through photography, and watching dog sport events. Kiko’s K9 Academy is more than just a business—it’s a lifelong passion to help people and their dogs build strong bonds through communication, trust, and teamwork.
